Come to think of it, I'm glad this happens close to Christmas. One, I hate the holidays, and two, I won't be in school to hear everyone cry about it. I am, too. It means that Christmas will most likely flop, much like how May Day flopped, come December of next year. Though, in the months leading to the Mayan end date, expect there to be much discussion of it in your school. Even though most people believe it will be a non-event, it is still stirring up a lot of discussion among believers and non-believers alike. This concerns me, for much like the Campingites (Harold Camping's followers), the 2012ers are trying to convert people to their side by any means possible. However, unlike with Camping's prediction of May 21st, 2011, there is actually a good number of celebrities who believe in the phenomenon surrounding December 21st, 2012. They include: David Lynch Not you David. Hey Dave, if the world ends can we get an explanation for everything you have ever done? How's Annie? HOW'S ANNIE??!!!

Actually, I think he doesn't believe that it will be so much of an end of the world type of event but more of a metaphysical ascension type of event. Ellen Page and Sting share in this belief. Hence, why all three of them appear in this documentary about 2012: www.imdb.com/title/tt1506940/Also, I believe we can add Barry McGuire to the list of celebrity 2012 believers, considering how he came out with a new song entitled Eve (of) 2012, which is in the spirit of his original 1965 hit song Eve of Destruction. Check it out:

I think this whole thing has kind of warped your mind, Jib. Don't start believing this wonky shit. You nonetheless have a plethora of knowledge in this field.

I think this whole thing has kind of warped your mind, Jib. Don't start believing this wonky shit. You nonetheless have a plethora of knowledge in this field. Maybe all of this 2012 shit has warped my mind, but so have many other factors. Which is why I am currently seeing a counselor at least a couple times a month to discuss all of these matters and more. As a friendly reminder, I do not believe in any of that 2012 bullshit, but am curious about it and want to get to the bottom of it all. That's why I've undertaken research on the whole matter, and from my understand of all that I've learned, a lot of this stuff is just plain bullshit. I'm glad to have had Penn & Teller tell the world that 2012 is bullshit, but it is so much fun and interesting to see that it is so for myself. I should also admit that I don't really believe in God, but I keep holding out for him because I feel obligated by society to do so. It is obvious that God is 100% make-believe just like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. Yet I remain somewhat hopeful and faithful that he will signal his existence in some form (be it a comet, epic rainbow, or something) in 2012. Of course, if no such thing occurs on the winter solstice of that year, than all faith I have will be no more and I will then totally embrace Atheism. I guess you can kind of describe it to be like this prayer: So basically, Steve, please don't take everything I say so seriously. You and so many others on here take everything I say very serious, yet Hawk is the only one who doesn't. But yeah, I have a plethora of knowledge on the field because I am curious about it. That, and because it is just fun to explore it all (until I get banned from a 2012 forum for posting my skeptic/disbelieve views on the whole matter) and so that I can have an excuse to partake in epic festivities. Currently, I am reading The 2012 Story by John Major Jenkins, in which he discusses all of the facts and bullshit surrounding 2012 and the Mayan Calendar/civilization. From what I have read, he says that there will be no apocalyptic event whatsoever come next and that the Mayan Calendar purely marks the end of an age. So have no worries, people!

I'm not taking it seriously, I'm just saying the more you talk about it and the knowledge you provide is very stunning. While I have no interest in the subject, it's nice to see someone know a lot about a certain topic.

While I have no interest in the subject, it's nice to see someone know a lot about a certain topic. Thank you, Steve. I am well-educated in a varied of fields, and thus I have a lot to discuss with people. Though, when it comes to matters like 2012 or God, I really want to get to bottom of them and find out why people take such subjects so seriously. It is is easy to say that it is/isn't bullshit, but it takes effort to do research to find evidence that backs your stance. That is why I took up to reading the Bible (and got up to chapter 3 of Joshua), so I can see why it is one of the most praised books of all-time (pun intended).

I honestly, I think that it sounds like it was made up or something. Crystal skulls preventing a geomagnetic reversal, or any sort of apocalyptic scenario, sounds like pure magic, and unfortunately the last time I check that does not exist. However, I have interested in learning more about cyrstal skulls, especially since there were these 13 crystal skulls in Mayan lore that were of utmost importance. My mom even purchased a book about them back in the 90's and I really would like to find the time to read it. Plus, Fossil Cartel has some "modern-day crafted" crystal skulls for sale.

While it is still 505 days away, my family and I are in talks of possibly going to the ancient Mayan city of Tikal in Gautemala for 12/21/12. My mom and I are quite interested in the idea, but my dad and brother are reluctant but may hopefully change their minds. I doubt the world is going to end that day, but even if it does (which it most likely won't) I will be amongst the magnificient city of the ancient people who kept incredible track of this great cycle and not huddled in some shelter. I am fully aware that I will not be alone in this endeavor and that tens of thousands (if not more) people from around the world will come to Central America to mark the event. Not only that, but the modern day Mayan people (who I refer to as the "neo-Maya") will come to all of their ancestors' cities and stand before the world as they mark the end of the Long Count's great cycle and dawning of its new great cycle. It is going to be absolutely EPIC and I am very much looking forward to this event! ;D I will even be looking into getting my US passport so that I may get into Guatemala, as well as learn to speak both fluent Spanish and Mayan. Of course, should that idea fail to come to fruition, my family and I can throw a big kick-ass "end of the world" party.

Funny you should mention that, because this dude wrote a song about 2012, which also happens to be a parody of Rebecca Black's Friday! Edit: I have 1,111 posts!

Remember those auction website and computer software scammers you'd complain about, Steve? Well, as you probably already know, 2012 is attracting all sorts of scammers wanting to cash in on it and sell fake shit to people. Just look at the two links below to know what I mean: 2012-survival-guide.com/?vsa=ywww.mayan-ku-ring.com/Just total bullshit! That must be what you think when you see all of those phony advertisements that assume people are stupid enough to buy their obviously fake shit. (However, the ring does look mighty nice, even though their claim of how it elevates the mind and helps the wearer survive the Apocalypse sounds totally bogus.)
