I never thought Schumer would force me to say: I refuse to see this movie. Her awful antics, recreating Beyoncé's legendary anti-racist "Formation" video with white actors (and Wanda Sykes, playing shield), have ruined her for me now.
Same is true for Sophia Coppola. She has remade The Beguiled and removed the black characters from the story, claiming that filtering out racial elements helped the film focus on gender dynamics. But... black women are still women. What Coppola has done is both racist and sexist too. So, I have to get on the side of the people angry at Schumer. A person with any respect for what Beyoncé is doing in a time of such intense race relations would not do what Schumer and her cast did (including Joan Cusack- Joan Cusack stabbed me in the back).
