Oh I'm not calling it plaigarism (who would do that with a straight face?) - I'm saying they went after Martha Stewart just because she's famous and took her to be the spokeswoman for denial of cultural problems because of superficiality. That may have looked brilliant in 1999 but since then we have all become glaringly aware of her personal short-comings. The woman is a psycho- that's all there is to it. She hides it well but we know she has issues. And her involvement in criminal activities as well. So, Bride of Chucky really had the right idea about her all along, linking her almost serial killer-like meticulousness up with the actions of actual serial killers. I think you know I'm right. There's a reason they did it first. Why do you think that is? I think it's ridiculous we're having an argument involving Bride of Chucky and Fight Club. Two very different movies, that have the same line. I'll admit that the use is dated, but Tyler's message isn't. I still love the line in Fight Club because it worked very well in the scene, same with Chucky, but I prefer Fight Club.

I havent seen it so how could I hate it? Its in my Netflix Queue, I want to watch it. NP nailed it. Bride of Chucky did it better, I watched the clip. They did it first and it was better. But I find it hard to believe that no one on Fight Club knew that the line "fuck Martha Stewart" was used in Bride of Chucky. Fight Club came out in '99, Bride of Chucky, '98. Theres no excuse.

Did you watch the clip of Fight Club or Bride of Chucky? Even thought Fight Club came out in 1999, it had a long production. The release was delayed several times because of negative test audience reactions. Also the effects needed a lot of work.

Gee- if only Fox'd known then what they know now.
You know... if Fight Club really did do it first, it makes the coincidence that they both did it no less embarrassing. Because then it's a case of a usurping rebel punk doing it better than the original. And Bride is still the punk.
