It's about 57 degrees outside. Naturally, I think that's wonderful. And it certainly is. From today on out the Chi will get a massive heat wave. It's modest today at eighty-two, but tomorrow's ninety-five, and Thursday, gasp, one hundred and one. Staying inside. No reason to go out anyway. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, guys. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Brutal storm hit Chicago today. Some of the highest winds I've seen in a while. Was at the movie theater watching Magic Mike when the power went off briefly. Film stopped for about ten minutes, and then, everything resumed. Mom and I got two free ticket vouchers, and as an added bonus, no power outages in our area (the biggest AC of them all).

Heading off to grandparent's. Will be posting a "goodbye" thread tomorrow. Jib will be in charge for the remainder of my departure.

Success!!
Finally, after a week, I have almost all the bugs worked out of this new computer. I haven't been posting any new reviews because I had the wrong virus protection package (instead of constant protection, I was on their 15-day free trial program and my last computer had the constant) and the screen video-quality settings (which I couldn't figure out) were making the DVD-ROM player (I used Windows Media) look like shit. I by chance searched in Google, found a message board post detailing the same problem and someone recommended a different player- downloadable online. Solved everything right then and there.
Both problems are now fixed and I'm of course drunk with power. Reviews will proceed this weekend with the continuation of my Thousand Film Trilogy. Cherry 2000 was the first, the other 2 movies with have thousand number values in their titles. Expect some kind of broadening of my music video thread and a special thread for fantasy films the upcoming week (which I remember saying I wanted to tackle back in December or January).
Also, I'm going to be re-hauling my old message board- Movies from Hell. It's an old title anyway, completely ripping off Trailers from Hell and Mutant Reviewers from Hell. Well... they're not me. I needed something more tailored to what I do. So, in a week or so- expect information to drop on my new message board (which I haven't registered for yet). Where I will likely be doing reviews the size of the two I somehow (through much trouble) eeked out the first week of May on MfH.
And, damn it, there will be DVD reviews. As well as more Disney-related content. I've actually been trying to tackle Hocus Pocus and started writing a review right after the Witch Mountains but it keeps slipping through my tracks. It is a hard movie to concentrate on. Maybe it will be a good feature to stick in the fantasy film compilation.

Want good virus protection? Download "Avast!" It's free. Go to CNet. Thank me later.

I have no complaints with Norton Security Suite. I've even had confirmation by actual computer nerds that it's the best on the market.

Had an awesome time seeing The Avengers and shopping at Bridgeport Village. I bought some chocolates at Leonidas and several cupcakes at The Sweetest Thing.

Saved a woman and her child from sinking in a wave pool today. Very proud I was there. Will provide details in an upcoming blog.
Also, I will address the forum's current status tomorrow.

That's great, Steve! Also, I am sorry that this board is dying. But I did all that I could.

No. Honestly, no one even saw me. It happened just seconds after a lifeguard had to jump in to save someone. And, FYI, it was not as heroic as you think. Blog coming...
