Miranda Cosgrove is a woman of talent. Major talent. Shes a beautiful young woman with potential to be a successful actress. Her paycheck is already beautiful, $180,000 per episode of this abashed show which has ran for four seasons which adds up to seventy-one episodes. So that means, by just doing this show, she's made $12,780,000, and shes three years older than me. No telling what money she made on Drake & Josh or her cameo appearances in Grounded for Life, The Naked Brothers Band, Zoey 101, or Just Jordan. Though she doesn't deserve half of that. Angus T. Jones who plays Jake on Two and a Half Men makes $250,000 per episode of the show and he deserves that way more than Cosgrove which is sad to say. She was so talented on Drake & Josh and to see her talents (and her clever quotes) wist away one episode after another is sad.
The show's focus is on teenage girl Carly Shay and her two friends Sam Puckett and Freddie Benson. After being denied by a teacher the kids she was chosen to pick for a talent show, the three agree to make a web-show where they can be crazy and do whatever they want. Its sad because nothing they do is funny. Its all slapstick joke, after dumb joke, after an insult to Freddie by Sam, etc. The show also does to many jokes on the word "nub" and "hobo". Almost every episode makes some stupid joke on hobo. In the episode "iHatch Chicks", Carly's brother Spencer (played by an extremely unfunny and just over the top Jerry Trainor) says a quote about Science claiming Albert Einstein said that. Carly questions if Einstein actually said that, and Spencer replies "either him or that hobo that sleeps in the dumpster behind our apartment". It gets worse. Sam says "I love hobos. Lets do our project on hobos!" Carly says "What do hobos have to do with science?" Sam questions "Aren't they effected by gravity or something?" So we wasted about twenty five seconds of a show talking about hobos in an extended, an unfunny joke that is about people less fortunate?
Episodes focus on dating advice, friendship loss, relatives dictating kids lives, projects, school, goals, records, and more. Only few episodes (maybe three) are episodes I consider decent and somewhat funny shows. One constant gag is Freddie is highly attracted to Carly trying every which way to go out with her. Usually Carly being nice about it and Sam making a brainless, one dimensional joke about how Freddie may have a better chance with something like a "robotic girlfriend" than Carly. So basically the laugh track is the only thing laughing in the show. Every episode takes on one of the above challenges, in a comical, pointless way that usually winds up working in the end so you can predict what would happen by just reading a one sentence plot.
One thing that always frustrated me was how stupid adults can be in this show. Adults say pointless crap like "I dont give a flying fladoodle about your web-show" or "I do have lotion. Cucumber Melon!!" Jokes like that ruin the show. When is naming a pig "Jamamaw" or having a floating bra (when the strings are visible) tell Horror stories amusing or funny? I knew this show was doomed from the start because they must have played the pilot about fifty times in September 2007. I was in 6th grade and as I recall, no one said a word about the show at all. I don't even think anyone even knew it premiered. Don't blame them because Nickelodeon has went to hell since dropping Rugrats from the show's regular lineup. Ever since I stopped watching this in May 2010, I have not tuned to that network since then. Occasionally the sister network Nicktoons will come on my TV to watch older shows like Chalkzone and CatDog but nothing else.

Both internet sensation "FRED" and David Archuleta have appeared on iCarly.
My last point about this show is that it has promising guest stars. American Idol runner up, David Archuleta, Victoria Justice, and Youtube star "FRED" have both appeared on the show in separate episodes. Even though both their appearances were awful and most likely used for popularity purposes, they had to have some real money to get those stars on the show. I also heard that Dan Schneider (creator) has planned his other show Victorious (starring Victoria Justice) to crossover with iCarly which I'm not excited for but probably watch. It'll probably be some lame dream sequence, or as usual, a laugh free fest with two pretty young adults humiliating themselves with stupid jokes.
Overall, iCarly is an abysmal show with very few laughs and with a total of seventy-one episodes, at least more than half should be good. But no, only about three or four episodes are tolerable which is highly mediocre. iCarly has a passable plot, one dimensional, brainless characters, stupid adults, and jokes that are almost in quality to the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid. In other people's eyes, they consider this "The best show on TV". I consider it another crappy, childish Nickelodeon show.
