Which horror movies did you enjoy when you were younger? I used to watch all the Universal, Hammer and Amicus horror movies late at night on TV when I was younger. Only a couple of them are still enjoyable. Some of the dialogue in movies from the 70s now makes me want to cringe. I don't think I could ever watch Psychomania again. Which ones are so dated now that they make you feel ashamed?

I wasn't a horror junkie as a kid. So, I can't exactly answer that question. And I don't know what I enjoyed exactly. I was a teenager when I started to see all the Friday the 13th movies on TV (HBO or Cinemax, I was lucky enough to have those channels). If that counts. They always excited me and I was disappointed if we didn't see what happened to the victims - if they died offscreen.

Ha. My Mom was the one who let me watch R-rated horror movies as a kid. It's only the unrated movies on TV that she wouldn't let me watch. I remember once she turned down Witchery when I wanted to see it - it turned up in the HBO/Cinemax TV Guide and she said no because the guide-warning said it had Rape in it. But I own the movie on DVD now and the rape was only in a dream and was by a demon. So it wasn't realistic at all.

Well, the reason my parents were the way they were is because mine were the type to let their kids be raised on TV. Which I was.

My childhood movies that I remember were Tremors, Friday the 13th, One Hour Photo, and Jason Takes Manhattan.

When I was younger, Tremors played a huge role in my life.
I used to run home from school (2nd or 3rd grade) and pop the tape I bought from Family Video in the player. I would run a marathon one on Mondays, two on Tuesdays, and three on Wednesdays, repeat all week.
I think I stopped that in like late 3rd grade. But thats how all three became on my list of faves.

Actually, I think I was maybe 9 or 10 when I saw Poltergeist and Children of the Corn. So, they count as childhood horror movies. But they're pretty much the only ones I did see when I was that young.
