NC-17: It’s time to let go of the MPAA’s scarlet letter
I remember being about seven years old, skimming through the morning “Tempo” section of the Chicago Tribune, where all the movie times and advertisements lurked, and cutting out the movie advertisements and taping them into a small notebook. I always looked for the rare, full-color advertisements, usually of a film guaranteed to debut No. 1 at the box office, for those looked the prettiest on the page, and they were often big enough to cover the entire piece of loose-leaf paper in my notebook.
