(aka "Tripod in the corner of the room" )
This is probably going to be my shortest review ever since a handycam film that sat on the shelves for two years before being released doesn't really deserve to have a lot of words spent on it.
I hated it.
The girl in it looked a bit like a more "High Street" version of Eve Myles (Gwen in "Torchwood") but I have no idea who she is and she wasn't pretty enough for me to even care to look her up.
The guy was a bit of a dick too. Yeah, it's only acting but, seriously, there was nothing about this couple to even make me want to care about them, their lives, or anything else that was going to happen in the movie at all. They had a nice kitchen though.
Anyway, it wasn't scary at all. It was overlong (even at just over an hour and a half) and, unfortunately, the hype that preceeded it well and truly killed any chance it had really.
Now I can imagine if you're really timid and frail (or just haven't seen many horror films) that you could watch this and absolutely shit yourself with fear over a couple of scenes. But for a seasoned horror movie watching audience, this was as amateur as watching the TV dramatisations on "Ghost Hunters" or whatever shows do that kind of thing (I haven't watched one for years so I have no idea which "True Ghost Stories" TV series is still current).
If only the guy had got his girlfriend to go along with a bit of amateur porn then there would have been something to keep my interest in between the three scenes that were even worth a shit.
And, yeah, the ending (and the alternative ending) sucked too.
I'd rate it as 1 out of 10. It's not worth a rental and it's definitely not worth buying. It's something to watch through Netflix, Hulu or YouTube but only if you're so bored that even your own home videos from are no longer scary for you.
