The Simpsons. By a landslide, everytime. Forever and ever. No contest.

The Simpsons Family Guy is nothing more than a rip-off of The Simpsons.

In my opinion, they are two different shows. I really cant see how Family Guy is a rip off of The Simpsons.

Family Guy For Me.
I Think Alot Of Cartoon Shows Can Be Classed As Rip-Off's Clearly Because Simpsons Has Been Around The Longest, Even The South Park Episode Where They Kept Quoting "Simpsons Did It" Lol.
But All In All I Prefer Family Guy, Back When I Was Younger I Used To Love Simpsons But I Dunno For Me Personally It's Kinda Just Dragged On To Long For Me.

That's a hard choice both are funny shows they have good and bad points in it here they are:
Simpsons they always have a good halloween episode but they! If I have kids(If had kids) I perfer my kids to watch it!
Family Guy : they have a good Star Wars episodes but they have lewd and racial humor I perfer my kids to watch it at the age of 15 or 16 (If had kids to watch it)1
So both shows have good and bad points in it! So to me both are good shows!

I always used to hate Family Guy but it's proved to be far more adult in humour than The Simpsons. If really pushed on the subject though I still prefer The Simpsons.

Thats just an opinion. There two different shows, with some similarities. *Homer and Peter are somewhat the same. *Lois and Marge are somewhat the same. *Lisa is actually noticed in the family, unlike Meg. *Chris doesnt do anything bad (hence Bart). *Brian talks, Santa's Little Helper Doesnt. *Stewie and Maggie. COMPLETE OPPOSITES!

Sorry Steve but Jib nailed it. Family Guy is a huge rip-off of The Simpsons so much so that it's insane you don't see that.
And about other cartoon shows ripping each other off? Of course that's happened before in the past. My brother came over my place to visit and we like to YouTube shows from our childhood and we were checking out all those superhero team cartoon shows... HOLY SHIT! There were a million of them. And I'm talking about the stuff that was like X-Men and He-Man, that kind of thing. Dinosaur superhero teams, underwater superhero teams, flying superhero teams, mutant superhero teams, music superhero teams, superhero teams from the past, superhero teams from the future, celebrity superhero teams, high school superhero teams, international superhero teams... My head nearly popped off.
But if you know history, look at Hanna Barbera. They ripped off stuff they made themselves! There's no reason Family Guy should have become such a huge hit. The characters - except for Stewie the baby - all suck and are not funny. Sorry, I don't like Brian the dog either. Adult humor (I know, you didn't say that- Dr. Blood did)? Well, yeah adults can be just as stupid as kids if they try. So, stupid-adult humor I'll give you. But not funny or smart adult humor. Gross-out, sure. But that's one more reason to like The Simpsons, they don't need to be gross to be funny. And South Park still does gross better anyway.
There is like one really great episode of Family Guy that I saw though. It was brilliant. It's the one where Chris wanted to go into the military or something.

I dont see at as being a rip off. Like I say, SOME similarites.
I like The Simpsons, their classics. Pure classics. No doubt. But I find Family Guy funnier. It's like The Simpsons, but with better humor and funnier jokes. Sometimes the episodes of The Simpsons is funnier, sometimes Family Guy is. Different strokes for different folks.

I dont see at as being a rip off. Like I say, SOME similarites. There are more than you've listed, Steve. The whole attitude of the show is even the same, sans sophisticated character writing. Seriously- The Simpsons plays Homer and Bart as obnoxious, stupid characters but they actually allow them to be sympathetic characters. We're allowed to like, and feel sorry for, them. Not only does Family Guy lack this, but they intend to rip off The Simpsons' many cultural jokes, references, and cutaways. They took everything from The Simpsons- even the musical numbers.

Watching more of The Simpsons and Family Guy made me realize how blind I was before. I can't believe I didnt notice it. Though even if Family Guy is one big rip-off of The Simpsons, but still I like Family Guy. Still, The Simpsons is still a more original show, though I think it's gotten old as the years went by, same goes with Family Guy.

Otherwise, that sentence sounds pretty redundant.
