For me it's cats all the way. I have one who's 12 and I hate when people talk bad about cats. I have no issue with dogs and since my grandma has one I've had a lot of experience with dogs as well. Which do you prefer?

I love both and they're both very fun and at the same time, very fickle and demanding. I spend the most time with cats because dogs are so unbelievably co-dependant. I could never afford a dog, and so I've got the roommate who has 2 small dogs and they follow her everywhere. They like other people, but they follow her everywhere. So you have to hang around her to be near the dogs.
But, unlike the cats, the dogs do not wake me up in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping, scratch on my door, make me get up to have to find out what they're bugging me for, and then... have to stand there and watch them meow at you. Why'd you stop? What do you want? I got up from my sleep to let you outside and instead, they just look at the food dish - which is full - and look at you like "may I have your permission to jump up on the counter where the food dish is and eat my food?" They do this even when I'm awake. "Follow me... into the kitchen... STOP! Meow meow meow meow..." WHAT DO YOU WANT? They don't go over to the door so I can let them out. Instead, they stop at the food dish and look at you. The dish is full. Then... they jump up and eat the food while you stand there.
They need humans... to watch them eat. Apparently.

Haha, my cat does that too, NP. Lil' bastard will meow at me and lead me to the microwave (where I keep the treats) and just sit there and wait for me to get them for him. Whenever I microwave anything, whether it be popcorn, pop tarts, pizza, hot dogs, fries, whatever, he'll stand there and wait like I'm going to service him when I get the chance to.

That last one is my cat Patches; But she was a street-cat with no home that we rescued and so, our theory is that she's really grateful. But yeah, she begs like crazy. But the other cat bugs me to - as far as I know - give it a boost up to the cat food. It's not a big jump and the cat isn't old or anything. It's just annoying.

Thats probably one of the coolest looking cats Ive ever seen. I have both cats and dogs, So I like em both... But my vote went for dogs because you can do more with them.

Thats probably one of the coolest looking cats Ive ever seen. Either she loves to pose for the camera... or she thought the camera was food. I have both cats and dogs, So I like em both... But my vote went for dogs because you can do more with them. Some cats are as adventurous as dogs. My orange and white cat is crazy. He likes being picked up (unlike the dogs, or any of the other cats I live with), he runs and jumps everywhere, he gets batshit without cat nip... The only thing he doesn't like is water. Other than that, this cat wants to be a dog. I only had 1 dog who was ever as much fun as this cat- and he got himself hit by a UPS truck because he was so dumb. But he was fun.

My cat doesnt need cat nip to jolt himself. When he runs all over the house I call it "running like your ass is on fire".
