Rock Band is another game I found stupid and pointless. That and Guitar Hero. Same.. If you want to play music play the real thing. Not a plastic piece of crap... They were fun back in the day but now I find them just boring.. I also hate how they keep making them Guitar Hero this Guitar hero that.. who the fuck cares I strongly disagree with you both. The only thing I agree with is what hawk said about Guitar Hero going on too long. That series should've stopped after GH3. The games are tons of fun. They're not super challenging and you get to hear awesome music that in some cases has been sadly forgotten. And the pro guitar answers the question of "why don't you just play the real thing" because it basically is the real thing. Also playing instruments requires a lot of dedication and is just really hard. Not everyone is cut out for it.

Dirk - I agree with you about the forgotten music part. But I dont want to press buttons and play a fake plastic guitar while listening to music. I'd rather do something in my time like learn to play a REAL instrument and play one of those songs rather than push buttons. Same with Rock Band. Both should've never made it to their sequels. They should have stopped after the first one.

It's easy to say "why don't you just play a real instrument" but it's a lot harder to actually do it. Do you play any instruments Steve? Anyway, the games are fun. Isn't that the point of playing a game? To have fun?

All I'm saying is if you're into a certain instrument, wouldn't you spend time learning out to play it rather than playing a plastic piss poor replicated version with no cords just buttons, focusing on a pointless high score? I guarantee there's not to much market for musicians who have a high score on Guitar Hero, but more so for people who play actual instruments.

After playing re-visiting Fallout 3, I really want to check out Oblivion. I could probably pick it up for cheap. I am also hotly anticipating the release of Mass Effect 2 on Ps3. Lastly, I never got around to playing Red Dead Redemption and I really want to check that out.

I'm planning on getting an Xbox 360 in the not too distant future (probably Christmas). Here are the games I want:
Mass Effect 2 Alan Wake Comic Jumper Limbo Shadow Complex Fable 3 Splinter Cell Conviction Amped 3
Yep, that's a lot of games. I definitely won't be able to get all of these at once.

Agh! Too many games, not enough dollars! Here are the ones currently in my Amazon shopping cart:
Dead Rising 2 Mass Effect 2 (Ps3) Little Big Planet 2 Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Alpha Protocol
I'm a little on the fence on the last 3. It's really down to DR2 and ME2. Both are about the same price. Decisions, decisions.

Agh! Too many games, not enough dollars! Which is why I dont buy too many games. Sixty bucks is outrageous for a video game. I just buy old games because they are pennies and up to $10.

I just buy old games because they are pennies and up to $10. $60 can be outrageous for some games. For something like Kane & Lynch 2, which people say is like 4 hours and has limited mulitplayer, $60 is downright insulting. But something like Fallout 3 or Mass Effect 2, $60 is a damn steal. I've spent over 70 hours with Fallout 3 and I'm still playing it. I'm on my second playthrough for ME2, which I'm only like halfway through. I know something like Dead Rising 2 is gonna last me really long. It takes a bunch of playthroughs just to do everything, and people say one playthrough is like 8 hours. Something like LittleBigPlanet 2 can last you forever. The limits of your imagination is the only thing preventing you from playing that game forever.

Something like LittleBigPlanet 2 can last you forever. The limits of your imagination is the only thing preventing you from playing that game forever. Super Mario Bros. (two years), Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (six years), Contra (two years), Grand Theft Auto IV (three years), and The Legend of Zelda (two years) are like that for me as well. Never get old, and I'll probably be playing them a good portion of my life.
