Wait for it... *drumroll MASS EFFECT 2 BITCHEZZ Yippee! Glad they made the right choice, unlike 2008 when they picked GTA4. ME2 more than deserves it. Incredible game. There were also a bunch of amazing awards. Check 'em out on giantbomb.com

Missed this thread, clearly. Like to comment. Never playing Mass Effect 2, I can't agree/disagree. My friend has it and says it's thoroughly entertaining. I really should check it out. Watched the trailer and it looked pretty good. Grand Theft Auto IV was truly a well crafted, well constructed game with numerous missions having extreme replay value. The variety is endless, and it is truly one of the best sandbox games ever made. You can literally explore that damn game for a good four hours and not find every alley way or backroad and its perks. I sure can't.

I sure can't. If you want to check out ME2, try the first one beforehand. It's much easier to go from 1 to 2 than 2 to 1. Learned that the hard way. Having a background for the story and being able to import your Shepard help the experience. As for GTA 4, while that's my favorite Grand Theft Auto game, it still doesn't feel GOTY worthy to me. At least not when Fallout 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 come out in the same year. The world is expansive and detailed, the story and VO are great, but the gameplay still is trash. The game also goes on for far too long.

The gameplay was great. Everything about it was beautiful, though I will agree that the storyline was lenghty. San Andreas is my favorite Grand Theft Auto game. You could do so much more in that. You could customize clothes, eat and become fat, roam the countryside, get lost on Mount Chillad, put in a "Never Wanted" cheat and free roam San Fierro or Las Venturas. The possibilities were endless.

The possibilities were endless. If I had to use one word to describe the gameplay of GTA 4, it'd be sluggish. Walking is sluggish, running is imprecise, driving is floaty at best, cover system is fickle, and glitches only exacerbate these things. San Andreas had a lot of stuff to do, but not a lot of great stuff to do. A lot of it was sub-par at best. The story started out amazing. Loved the hood vibe of the whole thing. Then, the game got fucked crazy and I gave up. When I was using RC cars the David Cross made to blow up vans, when hours later I was doing drive bys, I gave up.

I honestly never did a mission in that game. Call me crazy, but I drove around the desert with K Rose and KDST at top volume.

There was so many free-roaming opportunities I didn't want to put them on pause while I did missions. I may try some over the summer.
