Well, HD, I hear what you're saying. But there is a difference between acceptable while being unnecessary and just plain hateful. I still haven't seen Drag Me to Hell but I've seen some light or silly animal murders. The extremely fake looking dead cat in Re-Animator is one, a very similar scene in Satan's Little Helper, and of course the 1-second murder of a sheep in Bad Taste are all acceptable animal murders because they're beyond ridiculous - there's no way to take them seriously. Some movies though take things too far and I've seen quite a few. So I understand and think the sentiment these guys are expressing needs to be said even if if turns out their example falls under the 1st category I've laid out here. Well laid out, NP! That is exactly why I am very reluctant to see Cannibal Holocaust, because of how they do real unnecessary animal killings. Thankfully, the DVD has an option that omits those scenes, but even then the movie is still very offensive. I have heard just so much notoriety about the whole movie's premise and how people actually thought it was a snuff film. Even the titled, Cannibal Holocaust, is offensive. Though, while the most offensive movie I ever saw was Kids, I do think that Cannibal Holocaust would easily top it.

I refuse to watch Cannibal Holocaust. Its disgusting, rancid, inhumane, scummy qualities only cement it into the rarely visited category of films I'll never watch. Real animal killings? I'd rather drink fucking paint. I cry at those animal abuse commercials for Christ's sake. I'll never watch it, review it, look at it, touch it, or even subject to the lowest life form to even witness the film.

I'd rather drink paint with you than watch that shit again. That's another thing! Not only are the animal killings a nuisance, but the film isn't even good to begin with it. It's not like I'm missing anything if I don't see it. Poor a glass of thinner, my boy .

I've added Cannibal Holocaust to the list of films I will never, never, never, never, never, never, ever, see. Ever. Salo or 120 Days of the Sodom is also on that list. Don't give me that "social commentary" bullshit. If you need to go to such extremes to communicate your point, you're doing it wrong. Fight Club and A Clockwork Orange are two very violent films that convey a message, but they're done with panache and a certain level of class.

Cannibal is just done for the purpose or notoriety and unnecessary schlock.
