Surprised there wasn't already a thread for this. Ignoring the fact that he has one of the worst names in history (Rivaled only by !!!), he's only a decent house artist. He just doesn't have the mastery or craft of something like Daft Punk. Entry level house that should only be used in party situations.

Went back and listened to a little more of Crunk Rock by Lil Jon. Still think I'll stick with the two star rating, but I've gotten to appreciate the song G Walk a lot more.

The Black Keys - Brothers Fucking amazing blues rock. These guys are some of the best musicians working today. Since LCD Soundsystem broke up these guys are probably my favorite current band (By current I mean still touring, new albums, formed in the 00's). Top tracks are Tighten Up, Next Girl, The Only One, and Ten Cent Pistol. Only track I'd like to see removed is Black Mud. It's just an instrumental. No vocals which are some of my favorite bits of a Black Keys song. Get hype for the Untitled 7th Black Keys album! End of 2011 here I come!

They sound a lot like AC/DC but to be honest I like them way better.

Pixies - Surfer Rosa What an incredible album. I'm definitely of the opinion that Doolittle is the best Pixies album, but this is a stunning piece of alternative rock. Lyrics are funny and strange, the guitar and drums are impeccable, and the album just has this amazing energy. I feel like Surfer Rose maybe has better standout tracks when compared to Doolittle, but Doolittle is more consistently good. If we could combine the best of these two albums we'd have the greatest gift to mankind. It's crazy to think this album came out it '88. So ahead of its time. Top tracks: Where Is My Mind, Vamos, Broken Face, Bone Machine, Gigantic.

Listened to some of the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas box set today. Listened to all of the K-Rose disc, and some of the K-DST set. Love all those songs to death, but some are missing.

Pixies - Pixies EP A lot of interesting versions of some of their best songs. The sound is much less produced and much more raw. Versions of songs like Broken Face or I'm Amazed are similar to Surfer Rosa counterparts, just a little less flashy. The biggest change is for Here Comes Your Man with an extended intro. I also gave my email to the Pixies website a got a free live EP, with FOUR WHOLE SONGS!!!!! "Doolittle 20th Anniversary Live Sampler" is the name, implying there will be a full on Doolittle 20th Anniversary Live Album. The four songs are Dancing the Manta Ray, Monkey Gone to Heaven, Crackity Jones, and Gouge Away. All great versions with tons of energy.
