Just a standard poll about a normal topic on this forum; what are your views on marriage? Is it an outdated concept? Is it not needed anymore? Or do you believe it is perfect the way it is. Personally, I believe it's long outdated. The idea of marrying someone in modern society, to me, is pointless. You're together for a couple of years, then the women can take half of what you're worth? I think that's kind of why people get married in the first place. It's a joyous experience for a woman, but for a man, it's a stern liability. Why do both people need to give everything they own to another person? I'm not saying marriage should be completely non-existent. I'm just saying it can't be a concept that is working if the divorce rate is a coin flip.

Not really, just with the lack of religion in modern society (compared to decades past), bad marriages are now turning to divorce. What can I say? I'm a romantic. I believe there's someone for everybody. Yes, "the one." Somebody that'll make you think marriage is truly special.

I've always thoughts about that philosophy, then concluded "the one person for me" is one I'll never find.

I know marriages that work, so if people believe in it- it's not outdated. But it, of course, remains sexist at present with the significant exclusion of gays and lesbians with the bullshit one man, one woman policy. Which we can continue to thank religion for.

Still, gay marriage is beginning to become more accepted. As you know, I thoroughly support it and despise people against it. Going back to the concept of marriage; why should two gay people who love each other be prohibited from getting married, but a man and a woman can get married to get divorced in a year?
