Religion has caused war, crusades, 9-11, arranged marriage to minors, ethnic cleansing, human sacrifice, suicide bombings, slavery.. enough said.
If you seriously believe there is a man in the sky that listens to what you say to him... you are insane.

I guess I can only say, My believes are that religion is just people looking for something for comfort so they believe in something which they don't know that is real or not. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying if you do believe in god that comfort is the only reason, but personally just think that is a huge part of it. That was one of the reasons that I used to believe in God, because it made me feel like I was not alone and that there was someone out there who has and would never do me any harm in any form. Yet, I had to shake off those feelings when I came to realize that God's existence is flat-out impossible (do your research, and you'll see what I mean). So I know that I am truly alone in this world and that the only people I can trust to do me no wrong is myself and close family. It may give a depressing outlook on life, but at least I am intuned with reality. Religion has caused war, crusades, 9-11, arranged marriage to minors, ethnic cleansing, human sacrifice, suicide bombings, slavery.. enough said. If you seriously believe there is a man in the sky that listens to what you say to him... you are insane. You, sir, beautifully explained everything I stand for on atheism and against faith. Seriously, it amazes me that there are countless people out there that are gullible enough to believe in such a being.

Now I believe everyone should have the right to believe in whatever makes you happy... but just really look into what your believing first. Sit down and read the bible and you will find some disturbing and completely ridiculous things. Now i hate when people try to push religion on others so before i go on a rant, i will not push anti-religion on noone.

Now I believe everyone should have the right to believe in whatever makes you happy... Totally agree right there. Just as long as your not pushy, cheeky, and forceful of your beliefs, then go ahead, believe what you please. Jib, you need to watch Bill Maher's Religulous. I don't like Maher too much, but he's fantastic in that film. Here's the trailer, My review, stevethemovieman.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=reviews&action=display&thread=2346&page=1
