Today marks a tragic day in American history. Three buildings hit with planes and two destroyed. All this madness started at 8:46 am and carried on in our hearts and in our heads forever after. I was home sick with my dad playing with blocks (age five) when I go to turn on the Country Music Network (CMT) and every channel filled with the North Tower billowing in smoke. I saw the South Tower hit with a plane, back then I thought nothing of it, but I still have the image of the tilting plane flying into the tower and exploding. Very painful image when youre only five. I want to know where you were when the world stopped turning. What were you doing and what were your reactions after the horrific scene of events. Today marks history, R.I.P. to all lost in the buildings and planes and I pray for those still fighting for our freedom. 9/11 - We'll Never Forget.

I was in class when it happened. Very surreal experience. Especially where I live, which is like 20 mins from New York City.

I was eating at a Cafe when I heard it on the Radio! That would be freaky as hell to be in a public place with a bunch of people then hearing it.

This is an old post I did on the D&M board, which I thought I'd share on here. Please pardon me if you see writing errors of any sort in the post.

Where I was that day: What a depressing, yet meaningful story, Jib-miester. Very informative and true. You're certainly a writer with vast tastes and a very sensitive tone to you. I felt you were speaking as I was reading. I'm no proctor, but I dont see an error. Also, I want to say that today we watched a clip of the two planes hit in school and people were laughing because I had numerous tears in my eyes.

Those kids are assholes who need to be slapped across the back of the head! They obviously don't remember the attacks as well as you and I do, Steve. Otherwise, they would not be so insensitve like they were in that class.

Thanks for all the comfort Jib. Heres one of my favorite songs on 9/11. Always loved it.

9/11 songs never sat right with me. They seemed like lame cash-ins on a serious tragedy.

I dont know, never will. Well obviously they wouldn't advertise their albums as cash-ins, but that's what they feel like to me. Songs and movies about 9/11 never feel right. They don't capture the true tragedy, because that's basically impossible. They just regurgitate the events we saw, without truly delving into the affects it had, and still has, on people.

Well you cant say that about the movie 9/11 thats actual footage on the ground of the day. Its some damn good footage since we saw like more than half of it in school. Check it out.

I will check it out, but it might end up proving my point. If it's just footage of 9/11, that's only scratching the surface of the tragedy. Like I said, it's truly impossible to portray 9/11. 9/11 wasn't just the Twin Towers falling, it was, and is, so much more.
