This is a very tentative movie watching event, so much so that it doesn't even have a set date yet. As of now, I'm shooting for Summer 2012, but anything is possible. It could be sooner, and it could be later. I will be watching Duck Soup tomorrow, and feel that I should become more acquainted with The Marx Brothers and their anarchic comedy films. I have selected five films, which are often regarded as their best works.
They are; Animal Crackers, Monkey Business, Horse Feathers, A Night at the Opera, and A Day at the Races. I will hopefully try and crank them out by order of release, which they are sorted by now. I am very excited for this one, and feel it will be a sub-event within the giant one I have coming this summer; "The Summer Diaries: Part II." If possible, I'm hoping I can get this one out of the way before the summer, and will look into possibilities for when I can do so. Until then, this is merely a thought. Let's hope it will soon be a reality.
UPDATE:[/u] I still plan to go through with this event, but I just don't know when. Still indecisive about job-hunting this summer because (a) I don't have a license and (b) there's definitely no incorruptible urgency to get one seeing as the chances are slim and the economy is slow. If I do plan this, I'm hoping for it to be in June/July. It'll just be hard to do this since Zune doesn't have them and no box set online has them all conveniently packaged. It'll probably be very inconsistent and I'll just use Netflix. But anything's possible, right?
SECOND UPDATE:[/u] It has been brought to my attention that Horse Feathers, yet another Marx Brothers film, will be aired on Svengoolie tomorrow night (May 19th) at 9PM. I will make it my duty to try and watch it Sunday morning and establish a review of it shortly after. As for this event, while I don't see the possibility of watching all of their films in a row, I will try and seek them out and watch each one listed above sometime this summer. I want to expose myself to all of their works from Paramount to a couple of films after Zeppo's departure and their humble, more serious beginnings at MGM. Consider this event now reduced to a checklist as to what I want to watch before August 27.
THIRD UPDATE:[/u] On June 23, 2012, I attended a party for my birthday and my uncle had gotten me the remaining four Marx Brothers films I want to see, Animal Crackers, A Day at the Races, Monkey Business, and A Night at the Opera. I am hoping to glide right through these just before the end of July to make this event complete. Stay tuned...

April 1: Duck Soup (4 stars).
May 20: Horse Feathers (3 stars).
June 24: Monkey Business (3.5 stars).
