I may actually see this movie... not. Even though both Ebert and you said to look beyond the title, I just can't bring myself to watch a movie called Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Hey, I might watch Barack Obama: One Percent Hunter instead. You're living his movie now; Barack Obama: Corrupt Politician. Based on true events. And you prove the first sentence of my final paragraph correct.

Steve, must I really lay the smackdown on you again? There is no greater corruption than the way Republicans ran this country in the 1980's and from 2001-2008. If Barack Obama had been elected in 2001, this country would never have gone the way it has. George W. Bush is the one who plunged us into this recession and don't you forget it. Bush started the Corporations Run America system and this is why the Democcrats (who did a WONDERFUL job in the 1990's, economically they did this: You see when it goes down like the BLUE does, astronomically? That's our collective national DEBT. Decreases are good. That's what we want. That's when American citizens are more financially stable and need to depend less on the government. You know- that thing you always like to bitch about, where you think everyone in the world is an evil, jobless poor person trying to rob unfortunate, misunderstood BILLIONAIRES of their "hard"-earned money. But corporations and a lot of business billionaires don't like this. So, they have the RED side which they get in bed with to deceive the American public into thinking Clinton was spending too much (although, the chart proves it was ONLY in the interest of keeping America a strong nation) and - of course - representing Liberal social values (like FREEDOM to make your own choices, not like the Conservatives who want to tell you what you can do with your body and who you're allowed to marry) that they make look untraditional for pandering votes. Then lots of people (still not the majority) vote an asshole like Bush in and he literally has to frighten American voters with a terrorism scare to make them vote for him again in 2004. Of course, historically, he lost both elections and simply used CORRUPTION to erase votes in Florida and make poll results in Ohio change in his favor. And, of course, the point is that - as Bill Maher points out - Democrats have over the years become more run by corporate interests: Watch this and remind yourself WHY we are where we are right now. And why Obama is NOTHING compared to Bush.

I never stated that everyone is an "evil, jobless poor person," I just say I can't stand louses who live off the government's tit for their life, expecting everything to come handed to them. And I never said Republicans spend less than Democrats (I agree with that chart and knew much of that information before). Need I remind you I don't totally agree with them either? I don't classify myself as either, although I lean more to the right than to the left. You keep trying to convert me by posting various clips showing me why I'm so "wrong," but I've never stated that Republicans are the solution to our problems. I actually feel they contradict themselves quite a bit, and are rather a disorganized bunch. But they are not the evil anti-Christs you always dub them as.
My comment was more of an innocuous joke and didn't need to spark another political debate. Also love how that chart conveniently stops at the end of Bush's presidency. Bush did start the Depression, I'm not arguing with facts, but what about Obama talking his game about lowering spending, slicing the debt, and keeping unemployment below 8%? Guess what? ALL broken promises. And if Obamacare passes tomorrow, on my birthday, you'll damn sure have more of a reason to complain about being broke. Face it, Republicans are a deeply flawed group. But Obama has been nothing but a string of broken promises, corruption, and increasingly disheartening claims. And his response to ever-growing debt is blaming Bush for starting it. I don't remember reading that Reagan consistently blamed Carter for the economy.

I never stated that everyone is an "evil, jobless poor person," I just say I can't stand louses who live off the government's tit for their life, expecting everything to come handed to them. Same here. But the way you worded it, you were definitely going after everyone I described as being MIDDLE CLASS. That might only be a hundred dollars a paycheck from being your family (depending on their medical bills or how many dependents they have). The fact is that billionaires pay almost nothing in taxes and the middle class is being bilked. The same middle class who literally MADE things like Wal-Mart successful. Hell, it's a system. And more people go on welfare because they can't afford to live in the U.S. anymore, which happens because of the way Republicans run the country. So you really have more complaints because of the Right/Republicans though all you ever talk about is Obama. The middle class does all the work and BOTH welfare cheats, the poor and the rich are on Government Assistance. You have both the lower class AND the upper class making money off of you. Since it comes right from our paychecks, the rich are literally an identity thief with a direct line into your accounts. That's why this pisses me off so much and I was sure you could understand: The Rich (again, exemplified by the billionaires chiefly, not just anyone who has a million dollars) are getting welfare from YOU and ME by not having to pay the same in taxes. Yet, they wouldn't even notice the difference if they were paying the most in taxes which they're not. Being rich in this country is - as well you've probably noticed from rap videos of the last decade, which is only a Microcosm of our economic system - a game of flaunting what you have. These people are living a Profile Lifestyle. They only buy 4 houses, dozens of cars (I'm ignoring Jay Leno here because he actually has a serious passion for them- he's an honest car enthusiast and expert), yachts, and all this to make themselves look like they're powerful enough to get the attention of foreign billionaires. It's like those sitcoms where someone puts up a huge flashy lights display at Christmas- they only do it to showoff and get attention. And because of this, America gets sucked dry. Does that sound crazy enough? Two words: Donald Trump. He doesn't even go on TELEVISION without bragging about how much he's worth!! And he's a righty. Funny how that works out. He must be insane... wait, no: thanks to people like you, disgusting people like this could literally come on TV and tell the world they're using us and nobody ever challenges them. The Iraq War, Steve. They are evil. They built a fake war based on lies and got American soldiers killed so they could extract OIL from other countries' resources. Have they even publically apologized for the deaths of our troops? They killed us for money and the only upside of it was that there was no draft. Do you think that's any comfort to the families of the dead troops? My comment was more of an innocuous joke and didn't need to spark another political debate. Also love how that chart conveniently stops at the end of Bush's presidency. Wait 'til 2013. There'll be another one soon enough. Besides, I don't know how old that one was. I'm lazy and just used Google Images. Unless there's an actual Copyrighty type thing printed on the image, no way I can tell whether it's 1 year or 3 years old. I already nailed Obama on here during the last series of discussions. And I let Bill Maher nail the Democrats because I agreed with him. You did watch the video- didn't you? The Democrats have become Republicans and Republicans have become fascists, imperialists, and - if we ever let another one become president - totalitarianism won't be far behind. Anyway, you're definitely right to criticize me for having no answer. I'm just focused on trying to make you understand why I think your attitude is glib and maybe even insensitive to people who don't think the suffering this nation is going through is funny. But I am NOT typical of real people who agree with me. A lot of them do have answers and all of them involve bringing back liberals. Because you let the Right tell you what's happening to the country is the result of liberals but it's exactly the opposite. It's Conservative Democrats playing the same game as the Republicans like one of those pathetic sort of southern old-money family wars: to restore their once thriving name. But it's only a name. What they're doing is not in-line with the way great liberals of the past ran this country. As far as you and me, I just REALLY don't take kindly to your attitude. It screams: I can't be bothered with the past, I only focus on the present. I'm sure that's what everyone does when they're ready to let other people now tell them what to think and if you do that, you're just regurgitating the trendy anti-Obama bile of the minute. Which is like all Republican shit in this millennium: based on fear and racism, not reality. I'm not saying hating him isn't justified. But hate him for the right reasons. He's a good player playing a bad game - he couldn't do the right thing if he wanted to. He got where he is by selling out to the same people who Bill Maher is talking about. The corporations sponsoring and running Democratic interests today. Think about it. The answer is clear. Once we have the option to vote for a candidate the people want, one that is NOT being groomed and modeled to us by Corporations, then we have a chance of starting to heal this country's wounds. Of course... that's also about as easy as getting the Noltes, Buseys, and Torns to stop using drugs. But the fact is that if the people get together and say to the government "cut this shit out," we can get a real President again. Not that the rich worry about any of this.
