Is it too early to introduce another possible movie watching event? I think not. If you have been following me during "The Summer Diaries: Part II" (which is shockingly almost over), then you'll know I have been dabbing into different director styles, such as Wes Anderson, Larry Clark, and Ingmar Bergman (starts August 6).
In the meantime, when I noticed that a brand new Blu-Ray set featuring fifteen Hitchcock movies will be released at the end of next month, I got to thinking, I have never seen one Hitchcock movie. Not The Birds, not Psycho, and not Rear Window. Nothing. I contemplated asking for the Blu-Ray set for Christmas, but then discovered "The Masterpiece Collection," a set roughly fifty dollars containing fourteen films (the only one its missing is, surprisingly North by Northwest, which may be owned by a different company, but I will try and acquire it and watch it for completion purposes). I plan to ask for that for Christmas, along with the single-DVD of North by Northwest.
This event is still an extremely early thought, as Christmas is still rather far away and I do not know what these next few months will bring. Anyway, here are the films the set contains and the films that I will contemplate watching. I'm not positive I'll get to all of them, but I at least want to do seven or eight because I must acquaint myself with one of film's most treasured directors.
