Not listening to anything now, but listened to the entire Born Free album by Kid Rock yesterday on the ride to/from the race track. Thought the album was overall pretty conventional and a little repetitive. Most of the songs were Kid Rock just saying how much he loves Detroit and how he's a new man, very different from his former self. The highlights on the album were the title-track and "God Bless Saturday," which has a great vibe of classic rock and country. A lot of the production is very glossy, pretentious, and just very off-putting. To put it simple, this ain't no Rock 'N Roll Jesus. It will take a lot to beat that one.

My aunt made a picture slideshow with pictures of my grandfather, his wedding, his childhood, my dad, his sisters, me, my mom, our family, etc and set it to music. Cried my eyes out to "Then They Do" by Trace Adkins. Such a true song. Same with "You Shoulda Seen it in Color" by Jamey Johnson.

Steve Azar - "Waitin' on Joe." Haven't heard it in maybe six/seven years. Don't remember the song being so depressing. Actually got tears. But it's just beautifully written.

One of the only Elvis songs I love. This one truly is a masterpiece. Now if they played this at the school dances, I'd get up and dance.

Meat Loaf - "Everything Louder Than Everything Else." Love the line, "A wasted youth is better by far, than a wise and productive old age." Don't necessarily agree with that, but the chant is catchy.

Katy Perry - "E.T."
Not very good, of course. But when I sped it up, it became infinitely more enjoyable.
