Does anyone like this? I know it's the most hated Halloween. I had to watch this like 3 times before I could like it. They should not have used the Halloween name under this because thats why it's hated. They should of called it Season of the Witch and thats it. Still it was okay, not my favorite. That Silver Shamrock song gets stuck in your head.

If people look at it as just Season of the Witch, not Halloween III I think it would have gotten better reviews.

I enjoy the movie for what it is, a stand alone movie in the franchise. I would like to see this movie remade at some point as well.

It's a very enjoyable sci-fi/supernatural thriller.

I don't think it's a "bad Halloween movie," as technically it doesn't really count considering it was the only part of the "series" that had a completely different plotline. Still, it is understandable as Carpenter wanted all of 'em after 2 to have differing plotlines.
If you really have to group it with the rest of the series, I honestly say it's among the best due to it's originality; a very creepy premise rather well executed. I'd give it about a 7 or 7.5/10

I actually don't think it was that well-executed. I want to like it. The plot is as dark as they come, it's fairly cynical and apocalyptic, and it looks incredible with an amazing soundtrack to match. But it builds itself up to where it has to deliver big special effects (which are disappointing or outright awful) and some of the actors are just plain wretched. Especially Stacey Nelkin (at least- before she becomes a robot) who got a main role (and really- when you see Debbie Harry in Videodrome, she did it much better, putting Nelkin to even further shame).

I really enjoy this movie for what it is, a Myerless Halloween movie.

Still, it is understandable as Carpenter wanted all of 'em after 2 to have differing plotlines. I think Carpenter should have started doing that after the first Halloween. That way, each one would have been it's own unique Halloween-themed horror flick.
