Many movies of people with Mental Illness I've seen but the one movie I always love is The Other Sister! It's basically about a Mentally Challenge woman name Carla Tate( played by Juliette Lewis), She goes home after 10 years in a Special Education school. Her mother (played by Diane Keaton), hasn't realized she a little kid anymore but she tries to make up for lost time with her by making her play Tennis, look at art books, and go to charaties all that pressure on Carla made her run away from home and both Mom and Dad (played by Tom Skerritt), talk to the person she used to help her through life finds out that Carla wants to go to a regular tech school so they let her and she meets this Mentally Challenge person named Daniel (played by Giovanni Ribisi), and they fall in love. Then Daniel tells he's lives by himself he has a job and he loves marching bands and Carla likes Daniel as friend then one day at school Carla says goodbye and waves to Daniel her Dad says "Who's that" She says that's my friend Daniel and the father says "Well Daniel's is kinda cute" and she says "Stop teasing dad!" So it's Carla's birthday she tells everybody she wants a Apartment and her mom just is to protective her and her sisters says alot of the books advocate that the disabled can live on their own but her mom can't see that she is a woman now! So after Dad says we can be 15min. away from her she can have a Apartment! So she tells Daniel and they're happy so Daniel asked if they want to go out and she agrees and on the Halloween Dance Carla tells her mom she has a boyfriend and mom has a nervous breakdown because she thinks that this guy is taking advantage of her but she meets him and she realize he's ok! So at the dance Daniel didn't pass his course and was crying and he says you probably you think I'm dumb and Carla says I can never think of that next 2 weeks she finds out in January he has to move and Carla wants her mom say he can live with her but she says no! So on Thanksgiving Carla and Daniel get intimate with each other at her Apartment and then Daniel asked his father for a little extra money for rent and he hangs up the phone on him so Daniel starts to drink! Then at the Christmas party he gets drunk and goes up stage at the Country Club and tells how much he loves her and how much he cares for her then he told the whole Country Club that he and Carla made love and everybody was laughing and Carla broke down and cried and she told him to never to see her again and that he was stupid and 5 days before her sisters wedding she wishes that she would love to see Daniel again! So at the wedding Daniel came back and say he loved her and he was sorry and wanted to marry her! So her mother told Carla to wait and she can do better then told her mom the most independent Mentally Challange speech ever! The Ending was real good they get married and lived happily ever after!

This movie is must see I loved it and tells a message "No matter what you are you'll find love! The all-star cast were great and Gary Marshall directed it! You will fall in love with The Other Sister!
