I just watched it and enjoyed it for the most part... but...
I don't really like horror comedies and it could have been a LOT gorier. It was certainly a lot better than "Botched" which I watched just before it in terms of production values and pacing but it still felt very toned down for the kiddies. R-rating? That's the biggest joke of all. Every time it looked as though there was going to be a memorable zombie kill, the scene was cut before you saw anything.
There was no sex either though I'm not entirely sure if I'd really want to see Emma Stone naked anyway. She's pretty I suppose but just not as "hot" as I was led to believe. I certainly wouldn't want to see anybody else in this movie other than her nude.
I don't know if I'd ever buy this on DVD unless it comes up for $3 in Big Lots eventually since it was all pretty tame really.
I know it'll appeal to people who liked "Shaun of the Dead" which is, as some of you either may or may not know, my most hated movie of all time. It was just a Hollywood version of the same thing as far as I'm concerned but with teenagers.
Woody Harrelson (obviously not a teenager) was the best thing in it and he more than made up for his dweeb character in "Transsiberian". Another comedy actor (who shall remain nameless so as not to spoil it for you) was, quite frankly, embarrassing in his cameo and the whole section in his house just felt like a sycophantic filler.
But that's just my opinion. What did you think?
