Am I the only one that found this movie worst of the year. This movie was just awful. I cried when she killed the cat and the story was not good at all. Scariest movie of the decade my ass.

I really think this was the tiniest bit above average, it was scary (The car lot attack, which most people laughed at, was really the high point of thrills for me, plus the plot itself was tragically suspenseful), but with that scariness it did not balance the comedy very well.
I personally groaned when the cat was killed (shoddily pulled off), and groaned even louder at the twist (saw it coming a mile away, that is NOT a good thing)... The CGI was actually done pretty well in some places (the fly), but total crud in others (hell itself).
Overall I give it a 6 out of 10.

The CGI was fine, nothing special. When the cat got killed I nearly cried. I hate that fucking shit.
People actually think this is scary. My ass is scary. And The Scariest movie of the decade? Yeah right, I can name 10 movies scarier than this.
The twist was shit. I pointed it out like that. Plus the stupid plot was garbage. Give her the fucking mortgage and the movie will be done!!!

I dunno, I think films usually gotta have balls to kill off "an innocent"... The way it happened was just shit though, "here kitty kitty"? Issss that supposed to be funny? Shouldn't it be done in something of an emotional and tense way?
I still say it was scary it places; the idea of such a nigh-unstoppable force coming after you is horrible... She couldn't just pay her back though, the old bitch(es) was too damn stubborn (and dead) to take it by the time she thought of that.
I agree though, not nearly well-done enough to make the scariest film of the decade; that's mainly the Raimi fanboys yukking it up in the theater saying that I think >.< ... IMO the honor either goes to Blair Witch or The Strangers depending on my mood

IMO the honor either goes to Blair Witch or The Strangers depending on my mood I agree with everything you say. "Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty" almost made me fucking burst out in tears. Just thinking about it. It was an innocent animal. Like you said. All the Raimi fans saying this is the scariest movie of the decade are just pushing it too far. I mean, one it wasn't meant to be scary, two it had Comedy in it. And three a curse being cast on a stubborn bitch who won't give an old lady a mortgage and having a body throw up in her mouth is supposed to be scary? I get more freaked looking at the covers of my Horror Collection.

I think they were referring to liking the comedy themselves. I read some comments from said fans saying stuff along the lines of horror today being "too serious"... ...It's supposed to be scary. Even if you watch it to "get away from things" as some of my pals do, I just do not complain when horror is made scarier.
...(Unless it's snuff or something, that's unscripted, E.G: cheating XP)
I can personally appreciate comedy horror though, when the elements mix to either highlight one genre or somehow make a seamless product... but this film did not balance comedy and horror well: it was like Raimi was aiming for two separate things, which majorly distracted from each other.
