Today, I come on the forum in the early morning hours to find a new user, named "selinagome," posting malicious links involving movies online in the "Movies" section. I took action immediately and banned her email and IP address on the spot. Another user named "timberland" had joined, but not posted anything, yet I still took appropriate action and banned them.
I sign on the forum again at roughly 11:10am to find the site bombarded with threads from user "tomsmenclassic," posting over thirteen times in almost every section of the board talking about "Luis Vuitton belts and handbags." I tirelessly went through the clean up of the forum and, again, banned their email and address.
This is a call out to all mods - I can not be modding this site twenty-four hours and, seeing as "tomsmenclassic" posted about two and a half hours before I signed on, I was disappointed to find nobody signed on and took care of this problem. I'm not trying to be unfair and frigid, but do feel that we still need to take proper actions when something like this happens, and for that matter, continue to sign on in a consistent manner.
If attacks like this are to continue today, I will have no other choice but to call a posting ban for the day or, worst case scenario, implement a board lockdown (something I've never done before). But we'll wait and see.
