So what are somethings in your life that you deem as "ruined forever?" You know, some life aspect that is just ruined beyond mending or salvaging. Something that you will never bother with ever again.
My List:
1) My Sleeping Life - I have been a longtime insomniac since '06, and there is truly no end to it in sight. To this day, I blame that fall I took as a child; I wish I would have seen a chiropractor about my back instead of that Kaiser quack.
2) My Love Life - I have never been on a successful date or had a meaningful relationship. Every person I have ever been with turned out to be utterly coldhearted that had no problem betraying me in the end. I have tried every matchmaking service available to me, and not one of them yield successful for me. They did not care so much about my love life or well-being as much as they did about my money. They went on and on about their success rates and success stories; what they neglected to mention was their FAILURE rates and FAILURE stories (because they knew that their failure stories drastically dwarf their success stories). Besides I have so much going on in my life, and I don't want to waste any of it on person who will just betray me in the end.
3) My faith in God - I been an on-and-off believer since as long as I can remember, yet I have always had some slight leaning towards disbelief. While I was brought up in a godless family, the rest of society tell me that I "have to believe in a higher power" and that "atheism is unacceptable." Even though the fact of the matter is that while God truly is a lie, I will not deny feeling a sense of peace by thinking about God "watching over me." It was only after you guys kept taking my interest in the 2012 movement super-seriosuly (with the exception of Hawk), did I make an example of God's non-existence. I was just having fun with the whole 2012 meme, but I felt compelled to prove that I did not really believe in it. The only way to disprove 2012 was to compare to something far more fictional: God. So there you have, in a great effort to satisfy you guys, I forfeited my faith in God in favor of reason and truth. I admit that I cannot help but feel unhappy living a godless life, but someday it will pay off. For the truth will set us free, and NEVER again will I fall for such lies.
4) Transformers - While you guys have heard it from me a million times before, it is worth noting that Hasbro and Michael Bay have ruined TF's good name far beyond redemption. It all started when Hasbro was concluding Beast Machines that they said "Hey, you know what? Let's forget about concluding Transformers and going on to an original franchise! Let's just scrap this super-cool TransTech idea and go for rebooting everything! We'll start by bringing Takara's Car Robots to the States as a stand-alone line. After that, we'll then reboot everything! From then on, we can just keep on recycle our material again and again, no matter how old it gets! G1 was our most popular TF franchise to date, so let's take all of its ideas and recycle them over and over again! Seriously, who needs continuity? Who needs originality or creativity either? We took some pretty big risks with Beast Wars and Beast Machines, so from now on let's play it safe and recreate the same material that older fans can identify with! I'm sure they'd appreciate that far more than us coming up with any new, original content anyway!"
Seriously, Hasbro? All you did was just do the same exact thing that Todd Phillips did with The Hangover. With being tasked to do a sequel, Phillips assumed that since people enjoyed everything about the first film so much, they wouldn't mind seeing it all be recycled in a sequel. Fortunately, fans of The Hangover have proven to be much smarter and more cynical than TF fans, and open displayed their dissatisfaction. I'm sure if TF fans expressed intense outcry with Hasbro's move to cancel TransTech, Hasbro would have reconsidered their move. Instead, fans accepted it without protest and welcomed Car Robots and all of the garbage that would follow.
While Hasbro had already done a fantastic job at ruining TF's good name, they then got Michael Bay to make a trilogy of godawful live-action TF movies to "prove" that you don't need originality, creativity, or continuity to be successful. All you really need is just to constantly recycle your same old ideas, while giving it a slightly new coat of paint, and you'll be HUGE success. In fact, I'm sure this is what Bay had to say when he was tasked with the responsibility of reinventing Transformers: "Wow! I can't believe Hasbro has tasked me with doing Transformers! I'll be sure to work my hardest to fuck it up while suckering untold millions of idiots into making me and Hasbro rich! There's no room in my portfolio for the bullshit ideas of 'creativity' and 'originality.' Sure, Peter Jackson was super-successful with Lord of the Rings, but he just overcomplicated it with those dreadful ideas. With TF, I'll be sure to keep it as simple as possible! No deep character developement, no background story, no compelling plot that detracts from the action, or any of that other bullshit that PJ used. I'll keep it super-simple and be an even bigger success than he possibly ever dream! Yes, TF will be overly-ensaturated with CGI and explosions, have whiny morons and anorexic bimbos that can't act, buglike robots that all look the same, forced godawful humor since people love comedy like Epic Movie and Pooty Tang, action sequences that cover up the lack of plot, excruciatingly annoying movie cliches that somehow make movies successful, and detrailment of Optimus Prime's character of being noble like John Wayne to being ruthless like John Rambo! Yes, I swear I'll make Hasbro and myself rich from this! Not only that, but PJ will wish he would've done LotR like how I'm doing TF! These will be the best movies ever!"
I will admit that when I was younger, I enjoyed the trash that is Bayformers, but now I see it for what it is. I used to get pissed if anyone said "TF sucks", but now when they say that I give them a nod of acknowledgement, if not a full round of applause. TF is just ruined beyond redemption and I am waiting the for the day in which this franchise completely ceases to exist. We can never go back to the days of the 80's and 90's, in which original and creative ideas flourished. No, we cannot go back at all. Even if TransTech would have marked the end of TF, it at least would have ended TF on wonderful note; not as a dead horse that is constantly being beaten. TF has totally overstayed its welcome and just needs to die off, along with Power Rangers, Twilight, and The Simpsons. Shrek, Harry Potter, and LotR knew that their time was up, and went out appropriately. Yet, there are some franchise that can stand the test of time, such as James Bond, Godzilla, Star Trek, Spider-Man, Batman, etc. Yet, it is only matter of when, not if, but when these franchises will need to call it quits for good. The day that Transformers is officially no more will be one of the happiest days of my life.
5) US Politics - This one is pretty much self-explanatory, but allow me to touch upon it anyway. At the turn of the century, a corrupt politician by the name of George W. Bush cheated his way into office in the 2000 election. During those four years, he desecrated everything that made the US great. Upon winning re-election in '04, through a combination of scare tactics and having a weak opponent, he continued trashing the US constitution and our way life up until '08. Then we were given a hopeless choice between two equally corrupt politicians: John McCain and Barack Obama. Our country chose Obama based on the lies he told about bringing "change" to our country, how he would "fix everything", and basically how people wanted to live to see the "first Black president." Obama has broken almost every promise he has made, continued Bush's job of trashing the US, has destabilized our country with his hidden anti-US agenda, and has divided our country like never before (the only exception being the US at the time of the Civil War). It is no wonder he is one of the most disliked presidents of all-time. To add insult to injury, liberals and conservatives continue to bicker and state that their ideals are the only set of ideals good for our country; the reality is that neither of them are helping this country. Though, if I had to pick one side, I would say that conservatives have done far more harm to this country than liberals can even begin to fathom.
Now we are at a "turning point" with the '12 election, given the choice between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. If either of them win the election, our country is screwed, which is evidence that US politics is at its saddest point in history. Since 2000 we have been in this vicious cycle we cannot seem to escape; the current president is totally vilified by one wing and at the same time the next president is being depicted to be like a messiah. Anyway, I am willing to bet everything and guarantee that Romney will win this year's election. Thus, creating the Bush-Obama-Romney era: the darkest chapter of US history. It is from living in this era that I have learned that almost all politicians are corrupt and that voting doesn't make a difference at all anymore. That is why I no longer vote, but try to make social change by signing petitions. Even so, if voting can become useless, then it is only a matter of time before petitions become useless as well.
So again, what are some thing in your life that are "ruined forever?" Or do you wish to comment and elaborate on the things I have said?
