Can't Believe You Have Never Seen This Movie Steve. All I Can Say Is It's A Timeless Classic Movie, Certainly One Of The Best Movies I Have Ever Seen, Also One Of The Many Great Tom Hanks Movies .

I'm gonna say the same thing I said on Don & Murph's board about this movie:
Most people regard it as one of the greatest American dramas ever made. I personally think it's terrible. Like, really bad. The kind where I look at the people laughing at this stuff and take pity on them. I cringe everytime I see that Elvis scene, I can feel my teeth breaking under the weight of my jaw crushing them- that's how unfunny and deeply insulting this kind of thing is to me. I just want to yell at Robert Zemeckis. I felt the same way when I was watching Death Becomes Her and Bruce Willis runs into the room where all the celebrities who are dead were supposed to have faked their deaths... Just because he's freaking obsessed with celebrities of eras gone by. The hammy-ass way he does it though just makes me violent. Bad trend, Zemeckis!
There are only 2 things I like about Forrest Gump. 1 is the music score. I usually hate classic rock, but this movie actually makes this music sound incredible. It's probably because I was so mad, watching the movie. I had to find something to take my attention off the unbelievably stupid story. I even found myself almost grooving to songs I never liked before. Like "Sweet Home Alabama." And of course, there are bajillions more.
2 is Jinny's drugging and boozing montages. Robin Wright Penn is just a really good actress and I kind of felt sorry for her. They made her a consummate victim, but I was riveted anyway.
Other than that- this movie is highly offensive and sloppily mainstream.

I love how NP has such a broad line of good movies. You should probably include a smiley if you're going to be sarcastic.

So NP, you only like non-mainstream movies. Or basically movies that are underrated.

I like a lot of mainstream movies - just not this one. For example, Robert Zemeckis directed this and I thought his Back to the Future movies were okay. Death Becomes Her was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. And Tom Hanks was in Turner and Hooch which was a very good mainstream movie. Sally Field was in Mrs. Doubtfire which wasn't bad.

So you like some mainstream flims, but not a lot, you find some overrated.

If they blow, I think they blow. If I like them, I like them.
There are bad movies both inside and outside the mainstream. Oh, and we all like some bad movies and dislike some good ones. It's only natural.
