Fargo is the 6th film made by the coen brothers. It's written by joel and ethan coen, and directed by joel coen. The film takes place in an area called Fargo in Minneapolis and was set in 1987. The film was made in1996 and was nominated for 7 academy awards, though only won 2. When i first watched this film, i thought it would be a black comedy a bit of a mess around and a joke. But what i saw was completelty different. The film is one of the grittiest, nasty, and thought provoking film. The story revolves around car salesman jerry Lundeegard, (William H Macy) who is in a lot of debt, and needs to get money to support his family and pay off his debt. to cut a long story short he gets his wife kidnapped by crooks, (stve Buscemi and peter storemare) to try and her rich father to pay ransom money which should pay off his debts. Jerry gives the crooks a car, for pay, but thigs go very wrong, and i dont want to ruin the story any more you just have to see it to appreiciate it. Overall hte film is dark cool, and a good crime film. It will you confused, upset, and if like me you were expecting a comedy Bewildered. Thank you for reading my review, and go watch fargo! Masterpiece - man. There's no other word for it. Maybe the best movie of the 1990's.
Edit: no it's not the best. Forgot about The Silence of the Lambs.
