Again, Friday the 13th.
And again the reason why is the quality from each of the first 8 movies to the next was far more consistent than the flow from movie-to-movie in any other franchise there ever was or will be. Except maybe Saw, because they all blow.

Friday the 13th. Should come as no surprise. The whole franchise is excellent and well done. I haven't seen every film from the F13 series, but I have seen most of them and my favorite would be Jason Takes Manhattan. It was the first slasher film I ever saw and obviously the first Jason film I ever saw. Friday the 13th is a groundbreaking franchise, Halloween may have been the first, but F13 is ten times better.

I say the Saw series don't get me wrong Jason will always have a special place in my heart! Saw is a thinking and survival movie because I keeps you guessing what's gonna happen next and just when you caught Jigsaw he always has a ace in the hole play to get out of trouble and his devices are as twisted and demented as he is so Jason is no. 1 in my book but you have give Jigsaw some credit where it's due that's why I picked Saw!

Patface... you know I'm probably the #1 Saw Hater on this board. So, don't take this personally (I know you probably won't)... But Saw does not keep me guessing. I like a good brain twister but Saw was so stupid, so made-for-TV idiotic. Bad acting, REALLY bad writing, bad dialogue, stupid characters, pandering garbage... Anyway, this isn't really horror... but for a better mystery / brain twister: you should really check out the movie Sleuth: Well... you might have wanted to. It's out of print. And it's not up on YouTube (but of course the stupid remake IS)... In fact, I just went to YouTube and when I searched for Sleuth, there was actually a video called: "Sleuth: Saw-style ending" (right here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcoUtLZStck ). But of course, I have it on VHS. And it's amazing! Now, THAT's how you do a mystery / thriller!! It has brains, character, intelligence (same as brains? Maybe), everything important. Even Wild Things is a hundred times better than anything Saw related. Especially directly.
