Well, if you follow on Facebook (I don't do Twitter), you'll notice I said I've declared a pre-Scream 4 Horror Holiday and that I have big plans... That ain't no jive, turkey! I'm doing a sort of trickle-down segment to the Book of Horror which will also serve as a kinda sequel to Steve's September Rush. It will be called Horror Holiday and it will be a kind of New-Movies-I've-Never-Seen Program. So... you got suggestions? I'm happy to hear 'em. If it's on Netflix: Watch Instant - I will watch it for you. Hell, if it isn't on Watch Instant, I'll try to find it and see it.
The festivities start... this upcoming week, with a Facebook Horror Video (of one sort or another - trailers, clips, music) every day (which is sort of a bonus to what's coming here) and will go on until mid-April. Expect several BoH-ian type entries in the new thread (which will probably go up tomorrow) and I can guarantee at least 3 a week, as well as other content including a few more BoH entries, bonus articles, and some themed-Disney content (although, that thing was bleeding me dry and now Photobucket is being a shit resizing all my newly added pics that go over 800 pixels tall or wide, so the Feature Spotlights are going on the backburner for now).
I believe, since this will be in a non-formal September Rush type format, that I will be able to write a new entry for every new movie I can watch. Which would mean 1 per day so long as I have an hour a day alone. The one problem is space in this room. I've complained recently about having no privacy but all I need is a plan, I think I'm mapping one out currently.

I know there's another movie called Trick or Treat with Gene Simmons, Ozzy Osburne and the guy who plays Skippy from Family Ties! That wasn't that good either!

Just a message to tell you guys I know I've been inactive the last 5 or so days. I've had some more problems. First, a bad restart. Second, stress over putting in a new printer. Third, taxes. Fourth, for some reason- all my images online are starting to look fucked up. At first I thought it was Photobucket allowing the images I made to start turning to shit. But now it's lots of other images online too. Since I take most of the pictures that I use, this obviously REALLY stresses me out.
Anyway, activity will pick up again real soon, I promise.
And an announcement! My first special article of the season:
The 116 Greatest Scenes in Disney Classic Animated Film History!: A Countdown of the 116 Greatest Moments in Disney Cinematic History: The Magic, the Music, the Merriment
Now, this will not be another failed project like the 479 Greatest Horror Scenes. This one is much easier to manage. It will be strictly devoted to the Disney animated feature films (over 1 hour long) made from 1937 to 1988 (50 years). I already have the whole thing laid out (which I didn't have with the horror scenes article) and all I need to do are the summaries - which I plan to do offline at work this evening.
They will probably be posted in 2 separate sections. The first having #116-51 and the second having #50-1.

Oh, perhaps I should have been more specific: the movies I chose are not live-action with animation mixed in. They're all-animation. And sadly, since I don't have any movies on DVD after 1988- I had to nix the 2nd Major Wave of films. Also, I don't have Black Cauldron either. So, it's not completely definitive yet.

Anyone want to see something sad? C'mon- ya know ya do. Here are some reviews I wrote back in 1999-2000 when I was a pathetic Amazon'er, wishing I were as good as Steve, known as "TheCynicalCritic" : www.amazon.com/gp/cdp/member-reviews/AEF8X4ECM4Q3S?ie=UTF8&display=public&sort_by=MostRecentReview&page=13No one is above escaping their past, including me. Lots of opinions obviously have since changed. I think what I was trying to do was just post as many comments as I could, just to rack up a big resume. When rating and ranking was fun and I had no idea who Dario Argento was.

I sort of feel I'm responsible for you rewatching Jawbreaker. Youve been talking about it a lot since I reviewed it. Definitely not a bad thing, just saying.

I used to worship the movie in high school and the DVD's been around for quite awhile. Your review just gave me an excuse to finally say something- there's probably a lot more I'd like to have.

Don't worry, this will soon be merged into my News & Comments topic, since I hate clutter. But I'm starting a new thing to hopefully keep me on track with my work here on SPtMM (S-P-obviously-"t"he-"M"ovie-"M"an). Weekly "what you can expect" updates. This upcoming week, I plan to do at least 2 movie articles (you know; my usual reviews) every single day. 1 for Horror Holiday and 1 for The (Sorta) Normal World. This next week will be a special theme week over at Normal World- I will be doing the entire Police Academy franchise (it's all on Watch-Instant, yes, the whole 7-movie franchise is up). And I've just loaded up my Instant Queue with a HUGE BUNCH of 80's flicks, so the next few weeks I hope to really get Horror Holiday back on track. 1 review per day there. Next week (3/21-3/27), I hope to finally get the Greatest Classic Animated Disney Scenes Countdown back on track. And as for a theme for The Normal World- I guess it's just gonna be a bunch of Pot Luck. Anyway, a lot of stuff's coming. Well, I'll try. But this time, I'm making a schedule.

When rating and ranking was fun and I had no idea who Dario Argento was. Read a lot of the review shorts. I look back at some of my early reviews and just go "what the fuck?" sometimes. I actually know someone who worked on Sleepstalker. Real fun guy. Let me say something that pisses me off and always has. You gave The Wizard of Oz five stars. I totally agree. I can't believe one out of seven people agreed. I never understood that. I get that same sort of weird shit on IMDB. Everyone gives things 10/10 and gets hundreds of people to agree. I give it 10/10 and I get one out of about twenty that agree.
