Siggy officially updated to include the Green Ranger: The Part 1 thread is done now, fyi, since we're up to episode #21 of season 1. Part 2 will focus on the episodes with the Green Ranger in them, until the next lineup-altering saga comes along (episode #35, I believe).

How do you know when to cut off to go to a different part? Are you doing this by season or every so many episodes? The banner still looks fantastic.

It's a judgment call. I don't much like the idea of a full 60-episode chunk in one thread. So, I'm splitting it up. Probably 4 ways. You see, the first season basically runs like this:
A. 5 Rangers. B. 6 Rangers - Green Ranger comes along and stays for awhile then loses powers. C. 5 Rangers - Green Ranger go bye-bye. Actor leaves the show and everything. I guess he feels inadequate next to the Rangers with Powers, so he's like- "I ain't stickin' around if I ain't go no cool powers no more." D. 6 Rangers - Green Ranger comes back and stays for awhile because he has ... some power again, but not a lot. So, sometimes he's in the way and sometimes he's their only hope.
That will probably be the split I choose for the various parts.

I hate violence against animals- even if animals are often vicious, people always have the upper hand and so it's just too easy for any person to kill an animal since we have guns and knives and cars and they don't). Exactly. I despise any animal cruelty. I break down when I see it. I'm not a vegetarian, but I'm totally against dog fighting, murders in movies, etc.

You may have noticed that I've been almost completely absent from the board the last week.
That's because I'm making a video series dedicated to my memories of the 90's since I was a child of that decade (meaning, of course, I was a teenager through most of it). Told through music clips and photos. It will focus mostly on movies, TV, music, and the few games I played before Playstation and N64 took over (which is when I stopped playing video games- I'm strictly an SNES, and some NES, guy). Even more specifically, stylistic trends from both.
And, at present... I'm in a bit of a slump about something. Right now, I'm mostly focused on music videos. And have a long list of artists to research. So, it'll probably be 3 more days before the first part video goes up.
What I'd like help on is, because I am so focused on videos, just some ideas on: movie posters and album covers. I wasn't a big CD collector in the 90's. In fact, through more than half of the decade- the only CD I owned was the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie soundtrack. Even though I didn't own a lot of albums even by the end of the decade, what I'll remember are the covers. And even then, what I'm really looking for are stylistic trends that I remember seeing a lot of.
What are some 90's movie posters and album covers you consider iconic and memorable based on artwork alone? (Of course, my memories and your memories might not sink up- but I just need some ideas.)

An idea I've had for a new review project (I know... a NEW one?):
Watch the Movie with Me
Instead of trying to summarize the movie and critique it after finishing it... I do it during. While I watch it. Give plot points and photos and write my reactions to what I'm watching as I watch it.
This is just a thought at current. But, here's more on how it would probably go. I post a piece of the review per every 10 minutes of filmtime. Therefore, 1 hour 40 minute movies would have 10 pieces. 90 minute movies would have 9, 80... you get the picture. I compose the review at the exact time I'm watching the movie- sharing thoughts and describing what is going on; pausing the movie to write and etc.
Any opinions? Any suggestions on what movies you might like to see me try this with? I'm literally open to any suggestions. Hell, I might even be able to start this tonight with a movie.

What on your list I've already caught: Jenny McCarthy (2 pics of her so far), 2Pac, Fargo, Mortal Kombat (I got 5 from the games and a couple from the movie), and 2 Nirvana videos (hope you recognize those pics when the vid goes up- one of them is obvious and the other is half of the album cover).
GOOD catch on: Pulp Fiction- I want to include pictures from the movie but Netflix's version is the incorrect widescreen aspect ratio. I can't use a cutdown version of the movie. I had to go to YouTube to get pics of Jackie Brown and Kalifornia (I know it's not a Tarantino movie) and some of them are gonna look iffy but I actually forgot about the poster.
The Hootie and the Blowfish album cover - I just got a pic of that, it's going in the video.
For reminding me of All That. I took your image for the video.
And the Mario games.
There are certain things I'm intentionally strongly avoiding. Bubblegum pop is one of them, sports in any form is another (though I have got a pic of a guy wearing a jersey or two). I love Ahhnold but I don't know what I'm going to do with him. Somehow, I don't think he fits yet. Right about now, I think I'm going to split the videos up musically so that he fits in the last one. And I'll score it to the various dance / pop music genres I thought produced the most interesting sounding music. For some reason, any image of Ahhnold just begs to be jock-jammed.

There are only certain things I remember from the nineties, I was born a year later than HD.
I remember Nickelodeon being the defining point, South Park, All That, Green Day, Kenan and Kel, NSYNC, etc. Not to mention, when I got older, I got familar with all the Mario/Sonic games.

Ah, then my videos should be very enlightening for you. Actually, your Green Day mention gave me an idea.

I went with Insomniac instead, since it looked like a more 90's album cover. I'm definitely looking more at the memorability of the artwork rather than the music on the album. Since I can't claim that "I was there" for most of the major musical moments. Almost all the music I listened to- I didn't get into until the later years.
